Newry's legendary Seán Hollywood to be honoured with blue plaque
He is to be recognised for his work as a teacher, civil rights activist, politician, sportsman and actor by the Ulster History Circle.
One of his great legacies is the Newpoint Youth Group which he created in 1980 and which has produced leading performers and technicians over decades.

Hide AdUnder his tutelage, both he and Newpoint won a raft of awards as his name became synonymous with success.
The plaque will be unveiled at St Colman’s College, where he was an teacher for 31 years before he died in 1998, aged 54.
At his funeral President of Ireland, Mary McAleese said: “He loved his community, he loved his country and he placed his life at the service of others.”
The unveiling takes place at 11.30am on Tuesday, December 12 and attendance is by invitation only.
