Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Valerie Harte was delighted to welcome primary 7 students from St Michael’s Primary School, Killean on Wednesday 1 May to the Council Offices, Monaghan Row.

The Chairperson gave a presentation on the role and function of the Council and during the visit pupils had the opportunity to take part in a fun question-and-answer session to learn more about the responsibilities of the Chairperson.

Councillor Valerie Harte said, “I was delighted to welcome the students from St Michael’s Primary School. Visits like this are a wonderful opportunity for pupils to gain knowledge and understand the civic role the Council plays within the district.”

Councillor Harte concluded, “I would like to thank Principal Mr McAteer and Mr Haughey for taking time out of their busy schedules to facilitate the visit.”
