Kimmins welcomes update on Newry Health Hub

Sinn Féin MLA Liz Kimmins has welcomed news that the Newry Health Hub is to be completed in March 2027.

The ‘Community Health Hub’ will provide more services for local patients, easing the pressures on Daisy Hill and freeing up more space within the Hospital.

The Newry and Armagh MLA, and chair of the Assembly Health Committee said:

“I welcome that we now have a completion date for the Newry Health Hub project.

“This has been a project that Sinn Féin have supported for many years and it’s great that we have a date for when the project is to be completed.

“The health hub will provide a space for more services for local patients, an outlet to relieve pressure from Daisy Hill and will free up more space within the hospital itself.

“We also welcome that the health hub has been identified as a high priority project and hope that this will help deliver this key project as soon as possible.

“Construction is currently due to begin in April 2025, with a completion expected around March 2027”.
