Hilltown crash: Man released on bail and Jeep seized

A man in his 30s has been arrested following a road traffic collision in the Kilkeel Road area of Hilltown on Friday, March 22.

The collision between a jeep, towing a trailer, and a motorcycle occurred near Spelga and was reported around 12.20pm. One man, the motorcyclist, was taken to hospital by air ambulance for treatment to serious injuries.

The man who was arrested has since been released on bail to allow for further questioning.

Sergeant Kenny Gracey said: “Following yesterday's collision, officers have since seized the Jeep and the towing trailer believed to be involved.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause and I would like to thank the public for their assistance.”
