Police appeal following assault at taxi depot

Police are appealing for information following an assault in Newry in the early hours of Saturday, December 27.

It was reported that a man, was attacked by two unknown males while waiting for a taxi in the Monaghan Street area sometime between 1.50am and 2am.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.

A post on Facebook by the PSNI said that the incident was “reported as occurring in Clanrye Taxis”.

A police spokesperson said: “Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or who has any information or footage that could assist enquiries is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference CW 1423 of 28/12/23.”
