Suspected drink-driver arrested after car missing a tyre is stopped in Crossmaglen

The discovery was made earlier this week by officers from the Slieve Gullion North Neighbourhood Policing Team.

"We've seen a few less than roadworthy tyres, but no tyre is a first,” they said on Facebook.

“A preliminary breath test was conducted at the roadside with the driver, who provided a reading of over twice the legal limit.

“The driver was arrested for multiple offences and the vehicle was seized. They will now face their day in court.”

The police spokesperson added: “Drinking before driving is a choice, that choice could have devastating consequences for your family or someone else’s family, it’s not worth the risk. Never ever drink and drive.”
