Are you aged between 14 and 17-years-old? Would you like the opportunity to learn outdoor adventure and practical conservation skills?

Do you have a passion for the Ring of Gullion or Strangford and Lecale? Perhaps you would like to work in environmental conservation in the future? Then this could be the opportunity for you!

Fourteen to 17-year-olds are invited to participate in the Ring of Gullion and Strangford and Lecale AONB Youth Ranger programme. This FREE programme will run at weekends for five days in each area.

Commencing on February 3, 2024 in the Ring of Gullion AONB, and February 4 in the Strangford and Lecale AONB.

You will have the opportunity to learn outdoor skills such as navigation, hill walking and canoeing, whilst exploring the AONBs and the Mourne Gullion Strangford Geopark; learning about how it formed and its rich biodiversity and heritage. Most importantly of all, it’s an opportunity for you to learn practical conservation skills and contribute to the environmental management of the area, while having fun and making new friends.

Places are limited to just twelve Youth Rangers in each AONB, so don’t delay! Apply now! Applications should be submitted by 5pm on January 26, 2024.
