Last year Newry Cancer Research raised an incredible £92K. A small committee who give their time freely to raise money for research to support the clinical trials here in Northern Ireland and promote greater awareness of the disease, and yet ask for nothing in return.

Rosalind McCullough accepted the prestigious award on behalf of Newry Cancer Research with exceptional pride. Rosalind continued to say that volunteering is time infused with passion, drive and determination. It’s time honouring lost family members and friends. Or extra time gained thanks to advances in research. Every step we make towards beating cancer relies on every pound, every hour and every person. We love what we do and meet new people and build friendships along the way.

With nearly 10,000 individuals diagnosed with cancer in Northern Ireland annually, the need for ongoing research and advancements in treatment is more pressing than ever. Cancer Research UK's commitment of approximately £2 million each year to cutting-edge scientific and clinical research in Northern Ireland is a testament to their dedication to combating cancer.

KEEPING THE FLAME ALIGHT

Volunteers are the backbone of our charity – every item you sell, event you attend, petition you sign, story you share, pound you raise and hour you give makes a real difference for people affected by cancer.
