They received their final Six Star Medals, which is a huge achievement for any runner, in Tokyo.

Through their running, they have raised a hugely significant amount of funds for patients locally to avail of hospice care.

James McCaffrey, SAH Fundraising Officer said: “Completing the Six World Marathon Majors is a huge achievement and dream for any marathon runner, but to raise over £40,000 for charity in the process makes that achievement even more rewarding.”

He continued: “Having worked with both Janine and Karen over the past four years, I have seen how hard they have worked both in training and fundraising. To raise £38,800 for SAH in just four years is a huge accomplishment and is something that we are all very grateful for here at the Hospice.”
