Daisy Hill Hospital must be protected and invested in - Hazzard

The South Down MP said it was a pleasure to meet with staff who he described as the ‘backbone of our health system’

Mr Hazzard said: “Daisy Hill Hospital is vital for people living in South Down, Newry, Armagh and further afield - with approximately 3 million people being able to access Daisy Hill within 90 minutes.

“It was a pleasure to visit Daisy Hill Hospital today to meet the brilliant frontline staff who are the backbone of our health system.

“The staff here are doing tremendous work but at times under immense pressure and with very little space.

“It’s clear that while the stabilisation plan has improved some areas so far, much more is needed to tackle the challenges and ensure people have access to first class services.

“Sinn Féin will continue to make the case for enhanced investment to meet its growing needs.”
