​New Newry & Armagh SDLP chair sees ‘real opportunity’

​The SDLP has appointed Killian Feehan as the Chairperson of its Newry and Armagh constituency branch.

Mr. Feehan was elected by SDLP members at a recent AGM in Newry.

An SDLP activist for more than 15 years, Mr Feehan said he was honoured to have been appointed Chair of the party’s Newry and Armagh branch by his constituency colleagues.

"The SDLP has a proud legacy in this area, having boasted the late Seamus Mallon as our standard-bearer for more than 20 years,” he said.

“I look forward to supporting our Newry and Armagh MLA Justin McNulty and our team of councillors and local activists in defending Daisy Hill Hospital, supporting local people through the cost of living emergency, tackling the crisis in education, fighting for better access to social and affordable housing, and advocating for jobs and investment for Newry and Armagh.

“The SDLP is committed to providing a strong voice for people in Newry and Armagh on all of the problems pressing our community.
