Translink has enhanced frequency and capacity on its popular 238 Goldliner coach service between Newry and Belfast - now operating every 20 minutes at key times in the morning and evening peaks, Monday to Friday.

Greg McLaughlin, Translink Service Delivery Manager, Newry, commented: “This timetable and capacity enhancement is to cater for the increasing demand on our Newry to Belfast route. With around 1500 more seats available every week, this enhanced service will better connect the two cities and help to further grow the use of sustainable public transport on this route making way for a cleaner, better environment for all.

“This intercity Goldliner service offers our customers a fast, comfortable and relaxing journey experience. With free Wi-Fi, in seat USB charging points and generous leg room, passengers enjoy more productive time on board to catch up on emails, social media or just relax and have a snooze.

“The service also benefits of bus lane along the M1 directly into the Europa Buscentre making it the smarter option for passengers, avoiding stress of driving and traffic congestion along the motorway and Westlink.

“At peak times we operate 238b services direct to Belfast after the Banbridge stops and the reverse for the evening return commute, speeding up journey times for our passengers.”
