Warning for motorists as traffic disruption likely on St Patrick’s Day

Police have issued warnings to motorists ahead of planned St Patrick’s Day parades, taking place on Sunday.

In Newry, roads in the city centre will be affected between 1pm and 2.30pm for the St Patrick’s Day parade.

Meanwhile, in Kilkeel, the St Patrick’s parade will take place in the afternoon from 10.45am to 11.30 am. The parade will make its way along Newcastle Street, Bridge Street, Greencastle Street and Newry Street.

A PSNI spokesperson said, “Police want everyone to have an enjoyable day and would advise motorists to allow extra time for your journey in case of delays.”
