Magpies through by the skin of their teeth

Kilcoo are just two games away from retaining their championship title but Carryduff took them all the way in Pairc Esler on Saturday.
What initially looked destined to be a comfortable evening for the Magpies turned out to be anything but, and assistant manager Conleith Gilligan admits it was a close call.
“We had a couple of sticky patches and we had to grind it out,” said a relieved Gilligan after his side’s one- point extra-time victory.
Kilcoo led by a goal and four points on 24 minutes but they let Carryduff back in after that and two second half goals the game to extra time.
The Magpies pulled away in the second period of extra-time but Carryduff still managed another goal at the finish - and luckily for Kilcoo they had done just about enough before that to get over the line.
