Ex-Derry man Meenagh joins Down backroom team

Meenagh took charge of Derry in their Ulster final win over Armagh in May after Rory Gallagher stood aside.

However he opted not to be considered for the job on a full-time basis, with Mickey Harte now set to lead Derry.

A statement from the county board said Meenagh "Ciaran brings considerable experience in college, club and intercounty coaching and management, and had success most recently with Derry as an Ulster championship winning coach and manager." 

Meenagh will now join Conor Laverty's backroom team along with Martin Clarke, Mickey Donnelly and Declan Morgan.
