A 2-2 between Greenfield Park and Archview United was enough to see Greenfield return to the summit of the Premier Division table.

James McParland put them ahead, but goals from Stephen Finnegan and Marty Havern had Archview on the cusp of victory. That was until a late Joshua McKeown goal meant that both sides had to share the spoils.

Warrenpoint side Millburn United and Rostrevor side Rossowen couldn’t be split on Saturday, as they drew 1-1 at Jimmy McAlinden Park.

Darren McPolin opened the scoring for the hosts on 72 minutes, but three minutes later Conor Doyle equalised to ensure both teams settled for a point.

JP McCabe put Rovers a goal ahead midway through the first half, but on 56 minutes Mayobridge’s Connal Poland grabbed what proved to be the final goal of the game.

Ballybot United sit top of the Division 1 table through 11 games, and if Saturday’s display is anything to go on, they won’t be displaced easily.

Kevin O’Rourke was the star of the show, as he netted a hat trick, with the other goal going the way of Conor Cranny in a 4-0 romp of Ballyholland.

Church Street finally beaten

Church Street suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Orchard United in a five-goal thriller at Nan Sands Park.

Cathal McKenna and Neil Kelly found the net for Church Street, but finishes from Dillon Smyth, Ruairi Murdock and an own goal sealed the win for Orchard, which places them just one point behind second-placed Church Street.

Newry Rovers’ difficult season continued on Saturday, as the bottom-placed side were trounced 8-0 by second-from-bottom Lisdrum Youth.

The eight goals for Lisdrum were made up by Ryan Burns, Aaron McArdle, Niall Dornan, Brendan McCourt, Shea McArdle and Nassim Zerai.

Cleary Celtic came from behind to defeat Harland and Wolff Welders U21 on Saturday, and they did so having played for most of the game with 10 men.

Things weren’t looking good for John Hogg’s side when Shay McAllister was sent off on 38 minutes, and a minute later Ryan Moore put the hosts ahead.

But the Celts regrouped, and second half goals from Stephen Quinn and Benny Coulter earned them the win.

Camlough exit the cup

Camlough Rovers’ run in the Junior Cup came to an end at the hands of Enniskillen Rangers.

Despite an outstanding performance by goalkeeper Shane Magill, Rovers were powerless to stop goals from Jason Keenan, Mark Cutler and Jordan McClure.
