Northern Ireland, Luxembourg, Latvia and Faroe Island will be represented at the tournament, which gets underway next Monday, November 13. The Showgrounds will host three games involving Northern Ireland, starting with their game with the Faroe Islands on Monday, November 13 (3pm), followed by their clash with Latvia (Wednesday, November 15, 3pm) and their final fixture against Luxembourg on Saturday, November 18 (12pm).

This is a fabulous event for both the Newry City and Warrenpoint clubs and will give the football fraternities from both areas the opportunity to watch possible future international stars of the future.

Martin McLoughlin, Chairman of Newry City AFC, said, “I am very pleased the Irish Football Association and UFEA have chosen the Newry and Warrenpoint stadiums for this prestigious tournament and hopefully it will have major impact on both clubs youth academies.

"This will encourage many local boys and girls to get involved with both clubs. I would encourage all local youth football teams and schools to come and watch these very exciting games.

"The selection of Newry and Warrenpoint's stadium’s proves that the facilities we have developed over the years are now at a very high standard.

"Finally I also thank Newry, Mourne and Down District Council for putting both of our clubs' names forward for this tournament."
