Sport has always been a big part of the Newry Reporter, so it’s only right that we take a look back at some of the city’s sporting successes and events in our Retro Reporter series.

In this selection of images we have pictures from a sports day, star players from the Carnbane League being honoured and a certain Pat Jennings trying his hand at a different sport!

Newry Celtic celebrated a very successful 1984-85 season in Carnbane League football when they held a very well attended presentation function.
