GALLERY: The Rossi 5k run and Eoin Farrell memorial walk

Hundreds braved the weather recently to support amateur sporting group, the Rossi’s charity run and walk event.

The 5k chipped charity run and walk in memory of local teen Eoin Farrell, was in aid of a treatment for Luke Johnston (married to Niamh nee Morgan, Rostrevor).

This is one of number of local events that have been hosted in the village to support Luke Johnston, son in law of Deidre and Kieran Morgan.

Luke, married just over a year to Niamh, received the devastating diagnosis of a state 4 glioblastoma following the discovery of a brain tumour at just 35 years old.

A new ground breaking vaccine has become available, but this new treatment is costly and not available on the NHS. The cost of the treatment is estimated at £150,000-£250,000 and while not a cure, it could extend Luke’s life. A number of events have been hosted by friends and family and a Just Giving Page created to try to reach this target.
