St John Bosco Newry's boxers make history with outstanding showing at the Mid Ulster Championships
The eight boxers are Sionnain McCoy, Sophie Larkin, Aimee O’Hare, Aliyah Curran, Calum Curran, Callum Ryan, Harry Lundy and Faolan Lennon.
Sionnain McCoy (Girl 5, 60kg) adds the Mid Ulster title to her Belfast Box Cup, Ulster Nine Counties, Louth title, and Ulster Championship title. She was selected to train with the Ulster High Performance squad at Ulster University Jordanstown, and is awaiting a date to fight in the All-Ireland’s.

Hide AdSophie Larkin (Girl 1, 39kg) adds the Mid Ulster title to her Louth Open Championship title.
Aimee O’Hare (Girl 1, 37kg) adds the Mid Ulster title to her Armagh Down Open Championship title.
Aliyah Curran (Girl 1, 61kg) adds the Mid Ulster title to her Louth Open and Armagh Down Open Championship titles.
Calum Curran (Boy 3, 37kg) adds the Mid Ulster title to his Louth Open and Armagh Down Open Championship titles.

Hide AdCallum Ryan (Boy 2, 38.5kg) boxes in his Mid Ulster final on Wednesday.
Harry Lundy (Boy 1, 27kg) is a Mid Ulster Champion.
Faolan Lennon (Boy 1, 48kg) adds the Mid Ulster title to his Louth Open and Armagh Down Open Championship titles.
Exciting prospect
As well as their Mid Ulster champions, St John Bosco Boxing Club also have 17-year-old Danny O’Neill (Boy 7, 60kg), who is a very exciting prospect.
Danny has won the Belfast Box Cup and the Ulster Nine Counties titles, as well as reaching the quarter-finals of the All-Ireland Championships.
