The south Armagh women got off to a poor start as they conceded a goal in the opening minute. However, they steadied themselves and were on level terms by half-time.

In the second half Kellie Shields netted a crucial goal for the hosts, whilst Eimear McMahon made a block on the goal-line at the other end, as Cross ran out 2-9 to 2-6 victors.

For the Killeavy hurlers, they made a strong start in Kingspan Breffni Park on Sunday afternoon, taking a 1-3 to 0-0 early lead against Cootehill Celtic. However, they couldn't sustain their early form and were knocked out of the Ulster Junior Hurling Championship 1-9 to 1-7 by the Cavan champions.

In the Ulster Ladies Intermediate Football Championship, two late goals saw Rostrevor lose out at the hands of Glenavy.

The Antrim side got off to a fast start, leading 2-3 to 0-1 early on, but the south Down girls battled back with Niamh Rice in fine form, as she racked up 2-3 over the course of the game to take it down to the wire.

However, it wasn't to be Rostrevor's day, as two stoppage time goals saw Glenavy take a 4-7 to 2-7 victory.
