A Lislea musical prodigy and Irish Junior Eurovision finalist is hoping to spread festive cheer and raise £10,000 for The Make A Wish Foundation UK, releasing two different Christmas songs for the cause.

Fifteen-year-old Niamh Noade has written and sung, “A Christmas Wish” herself while also duetting with fellow Irish Junior Eurovision finalist, Niamh Beatrix, 15, for “Christmas All Year”. The duo call themselves The Two Niamh’s.

Niamh has connected with a local family who have had the unfortunate experience of going through cancer assessments for their 10-year-old son, Ruben. Ruben was fortunate to receive the news just last month that he is cancer free, however, the family were keen to come on board with Niamh to share their story in an effort to increase donations for The Make A Wish Foundation.

Ruben’s family’s Christmas wish is that the children and families that they have met over the past year who have not been as fortunate enough as them to receive a cancer free diagnosis, get the wishes they hope for this year.

Niamh, who plays the harp, said: “I am choosing The Make A Wish Foundation because it’s such a lovely charity that raises money for children who are less fortunate than me and I want children to get their one wish.”

Around three quarters of the £10,000 target has been reached so far, and Niamh hopes the Christmas singles will add the £2,500 needed.

Speaking of her music, Niamh said: “A Christmas wish is a slow ballad about all the people who are living in poverty and want to get their one wish this Christmas. Christmas All Year is basically a fun song that describes the magic of Christmas.”

Proud mother, Deirdre Noade, said: “To raise £7,500 for children’s charities, and another £2,500, if possible, would be amazing for somebody of 15 years of age.

“She has always been kind-hearted, and I am so happy that she is using her talents in this way.”

Niamh doesn’t plan on stopping her musical career after Christmas. She said: “I would probably want to be developing as an artist, writing a few songs and release them.

“I have got a lot of events like the Game of Thrones Studio Tours, and I also visit nursing homes because it’s really nice to sing for the people there too.”
