The awfulness of that World War 1 saw many local people killed or maimed.

To provide us with some of the facts and figures on the cost, in human terms, suffered over those four and a half years, local published historian, Hugh McShane, will be the Guest Speaker at the Old Newry Society talk on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Those of us who enjoy reading the various booklets produced by Hugh on local history will want to hear this account from him directly.

See the advert in this week’s Newry Reporter for full details.
