​Old Newry Society returns with new programme

Welcoming all to this coming year’s events we are delighted to have Newry’s local historian, our own national historian, Newry’s maritime historian along with two of our best published photographers amongst those giving the upcoming Talks.

Many of us have enjoyed viewing and discussing the wide range of slides and photographs produced over the years by the well known and published photographer, Mr. Billy McAlpine. On Tuesday, September 19 Billy will open our programme and provide us with a Pictorial Presentation of Newry’s ‘Down Memory Lane’. Billy is well known for stirring the memories of times past and giving a glimpse of life as it was then which younger people have also enjoyed learning about.
